With ever growing changes to how we conduct business due to the recent pandemic, we need to adapt rapidly and effectively. Most assessments conducted lean toward the physical vulnerabilities. Physical assessments are proven and most definitely necessary. Our expertise lies on the technical side, which means our assessments give us the ability critique your technical systems.
What Makes Us Unique!
Our firm has deep roots in the technical security industry. Our professionals have experience in technical law enforcement or private sector technical security. This diversity gives us an edge when assessing systems technology.
We have come to focus heavily on the technical side of security. While physical vulnerabilities are important, we feel that understanding the space’s equipment and how it may be configured, will help us to recommend changes to strengthen your internal systems. In today’s world, many attacks are focused at the equipment side as well as physical weak points. Even if there is a plan for a physical breach a seasoned intruder will have a strong understanding of how to disable, bypass or freeze a facility’s security systems.
Common systems that we analyze are:
- Alarm systems
- Access control
- Video surveillance (CCTV)
- IDF room / Networking
- Shades / Lighting controls (Automation systems)
- Phone systems
- Sound masking systems
Along with technical systems we have a vast background in SCIF and Safe rooms.
A SCIF room (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility) is another name for a secured room. This unique room guards against electronic surveillance and suppresses data leakage from the outside. The goal is to eliminate all usage of present day technology. That means there will be no access to mobile phones, smart devices, WIFI, Bluetooth, IR, etc. A certified SCIF room will be sealed from 6 sides to ensure there will be no eavesdropping in the space.
A Safe room is more self explanatory. In case of an extreme situation for instance an active shooter, members of the location will need somewhere safe to shelter until the threat can be neutralized. These rooms should have a checklist of items designed in it.
Some design items are:
- CCTV monitor of the immediate space
- Hardened walls and door (ballistic rated)
- Ballistic rated windows
- Fresh air supply
- Dedicated phone line
- A bathroom solution
- Some obvious items would be a fire extinguisher, first aid kit, AED, drinking water, snacks & medicines
The most important key point to keep in mind is that each situation may require a different approach. This makes each design bespoke. When lives are at stake there is no plug-n-play solution!
