Uncovered the use of the company’s surveillance camera system to spy on the company executives
Our client was part of a family business where unfortunately one of the members trying to forcefully take over the business. It was known that the other party was aware of conversations without being present for them.
Objective: Conduct a bug sweep of the office to confirm whether there was an audio leak coming from an illicit device.
Outcome: After conducting a bug sweep we came to the conclusion that the other party had used the company’s surveillance system to bug the office space. The bugs were not known due to the fact that they were built-in microphones in the IP cameras.
As of recently almost all IP cameras now have built-in microphone. This is especially dangerous since they do not require additional cabling and can be remotely turned on and off.
